Civility in Public Discourse

I have one non-negotiable rule - all participants on Latte Republic must practice the art of civility.

Latte Republic challenges all contributors to prove that it is the absence of civility that impedes freedom of speech, not the presence of civility... and to prove that truly civil discourse is freedom of speech in its purest form.

When all contributors to Latte Republic rise to these challenges as a community, Latte Republic will respond in kind by allowing the community to moderate itself.

These standards are high. So, Latte Republic will take on the burden of moderating the community at those time when the community is unable to moderate itself.

Now, let's have some fun!

No Spam: self-promotion is fine but it should come along with the promotion of others, too.

No Hate: Disagreement and diversity feed this community, personal attacks starve it. Don't settle for trying to be respectful... succeed at being respectful. Insist on it. Demonstrate how simple it really is.

No Theft: Feel free to repost articles from this blog onto your own blog, but cite your sources. Feel free to post articles from other blogs onto this blog, but don’t violate copyright.

No Vulgarity: No exceptions. Keep it family friendly around here. Any word that would get BLEEPED on television should not be used here.
